SCOUTS DONATION BOXES FOR PALESTINIAN FUND
The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association yesterday established a committee at its headquarters to raise money for the Palestinian Humanitarian Fund, which was set up by His Majesty's Government on January 14. Chief Commissioner of Scouts Awang Haji Badar bin Haji Awang Ali, in his opening remarks, said, "This is not the first time the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association is involved in such an activity. We collected funds, clothing and food for typhoon victims in Bangladesh and quake victims in Yogyakarta as well as sent five members to distribute contribution we collected to tsunami-struck Aceh. " Within the country, we work with other government agencies to provide contribution and support to the needy. " He hoped that members of the public will make contributions to ease the burden of the Palestinians.
